It Must Be Said...

I won’t revisit this topic again…..

I started blogging for several reasons however one of the main reasons was because I can speak my heart. I assume that is the reason many of my blogging colleagues post as well. I have found a “sisterhood”, if you will that encourages me and blesses me more often than they will ever know.

Until recently I was never “blasted” publically on my blog until an “Anonymous” poster decided he/she would judge my good intentions, thoughts and character. I was judged because I posted a piece written by someone else that “Anonymous” did not agree with. Furthermore “Anonymous” then began to attack my other commenters. Furthermore this same “Anonymous” poster has commented on my blog before and on the blogs of some people who are very near and dear to me… (what a great tool stat counters are!). This saddens my heart. Eventually, "Anonymous" did sign her name as 'Teresa.' This did not make me feel much better because she can still hide. You see, we blogging chicks have laid our lives wide open, warts and all! We have made ourselves 'available targets' and while we are all aware that the 'Teresas' may openly attack because of our openess and transparency it stills "stings." Because of this attack I have turned on comment moderation.

With that said, I would like to address some of the ill banter. For one, I believe that anything worth saying is worth owning up to. If you feel strongly about certain topics, by all means build your own blog and speak your mind. Free speech is for us all. And while I am on the "free speech" issue, let me say that most people read on RSS feeds, and you can have thousands of people that read and agree but many don't take the time to post a comment unless they feel the need to defend someone. (Another reason I just love this blogging sisterhood!) I have found that many times people privately email to tell you how they have been blessed/changed especially when dealing with sensitive topics largely due to the fact that they don't want to wind up in a comment war.

Secondly, my Anonymous friend claimed to have found some perfect people with perfect lives since she started reading blogs. This remark surprised me because I have found the complete opposite since moving into Blogdom. Everyone I have met has been so open and shared their struggles. They have been so transparent that at times I cry with them and sometimes I laugh out loud or rejoice with them. I found other women just like me! They have issues just like me! Their kids don’t always clean up after themselves, they get aggravated at their husbands and sometimes they just need to vent! I don’t know about you but to me that sounds like LIFE… not perfection!

In closing, keep in mind that we may not always agree on everything and that is okay. I can live with that.

Love & Blessings..

You have a great blog and you are a good writer. Do not be discouraged by naysayers. God knows your heart and only He should judge you. Keep speaking your mind, keep it real and let your voice be heard. Be Blessed!

Hi, I found your blog on a link from tarasviewoftheworld.blogspot.com, which I found at bloggygiveaways.com. I identify with this post. I blog on MySpace, which doesn't allow anonymous comments, but that doesn't stop Drama Queens (and sometimes Drama Kings) and stalkers. Hang in there and stay the course. It's easier said than done, I know. I have switched some of my blogs to "friends list only" or "preferred list only" to protect me from criticism of the uneducated.
