My husband Craig writes a weekly e-message called "Mentor's Manna"... the wisdom and revelation he shares always encourages me as well as the other recipients. Here is a recent edition that I think you will enjoy...
“Becoming a Dream Releaser”
Quote: “If you will help others fulfill their dreams, God will fulfill yours”
Scriptures: Gen. 40:1-23
Gen 40:1-41:1
It came to pass after these things that the butler and the baker of the king of
5 Then the butler and the baker of the king of
8 And they said to him,” We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it."
So Joseph said to them,” Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please."
9 Then the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, "Behold, in my dream a vine was before me, 10 and in the vine were three branches; it was as though it budded, its blossoms shot forth, and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes. 11 Then Pharaoh's cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand."
12 And Joseph said to him,” This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days. 13 Now within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your place, and you will put Pharaoh's cup in his hand according to the former manner, when you were his butler. 14 But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house. 15 For indeed I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews; and also I have done nothing here that they should put me into the dungeon."
16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Joseph, "I also was in my dream, and there were three white baskets on my head. 17 In the uppermost basket were all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh, and the birds ate them out of the basket on my head."
18 So Joseph answered and said,"This is the interpretation of it: The three baskets are three days. 19 Within three days Pharaoh will lift off your head from you and hang you on a tree; and the birds will eat your flesh from you."
20 Now it came to pass on the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. 21 Then he restored the chief butler to his butlership again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand. 22 But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. 23 Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.
I want to bring some things out of this text that pertain to being
- Joseph ignored his circumstance and pain and was sensitive the pain of others around him.
- If you are going to be a true success, you must understand that the people God puts in your path are not inconveniences but interventions. They are in your path because God put them there, and there is something in you that they need. Remember when Peter and John were on there way to the house of God and there a man who lame from his youth begging, Peter says, “Silver and gold I do not have but what I have I give to you! “
- What was inside of Peter unlocked the potential to walk in the man who had never walked. There is something in you that will unlock the unseen potential in others.
- Jesus ministered to the woman at the well, the disciples were hungry and they went to get food, when they returned they said, Jesus here is your food, He replied my food is to do the will of Him that sent me. (His fulfillment was in serving the dreams of others.)
We must not become so busy that we don’t notice those that God has put in our path, and if we will have compassion for them, God will take care of your need.
- If you need healing pray for someone else’s healing, if you need a breakthrough, pray for someone else’s breakthrough, and what you make happen for other God will make happen for you!
2) V.8 Tell me your dreams.
- It is interesting to me that it was a dream that put Joseph in the pit and prison. Joseph got there because He was telling everyone his dream, but now through the process He is asking others their dreams. Your promotion is not when you tell everyone what your dream is, but when you begin to ask others what is your dream?
- Joseph ignored his present pain and helped release the dreams that were inside of the butler and the baker. As Mentors, are mission is to unlock the dreams of those God has given us, his promotion was tied to his ability to serve the dreams of others. You will never see your dream till you serve another man’s dream.
- The process of blessing the dreams of others launched him to the throne. If you will serve someone else’s dream you will go from the waiting zone to the throne.
- How many of you have helped someone fulfill their dream but they forgot you. To be honest it can be difficult to rejoice in the promotions of others when you helped them get there but now they have forgotten you and you are stuck in the same mess why they are in the palace. I’m guessing that there were no special visits, birthday cards, emails… from the butler. I can imagine Joseph saying, “I helped you get out of here, I served your dream, and now you don’t even talk to me, you have forgotten me.”
- Joseph thought the butler would get him out, but God will cause the butler to leave you there because he will not let anyone get the credit for bringing you out but Him. Man isn’t going to promote you, God is. God will not allow you to be my deliverer because He is going to get the glory out of this. If it had not been for the Lord who was on my side…
Watch this!
4. Chapter 41:1 – At the end of two years, Pharaoh had a dream…
Genesis 41:32
And the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.
Abraham, Abraham
Simon, Simon
Surely, Surely
Verily, Verily
- Joseph was forgotten for two years, Pharaoh had the dream twice, why? Because while Joseph was in process, God was establishing his dream in heaven and at the end of the number two it shall shortly come to pass.
Joseph later has two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim meaning, God has made me forget all my pain… And he has made me fruitful in the land of affliction.
Let’s unlock the dreams of others!
