The Votes are In

The votes have been counted, the tears have been shed, prayer however, has and will only increase.

The bottom line, we have a new President. Although he does not reflect the Kingdom values that are lined up in the Word, I will, honor, bless, respect, and pray for the headship elected.

The driving words behind President-Elect Obama have been "We Need Change." Indeed change is/was inevitable no matter who won. However, what our nation needs desperately is Godly Change. And the only way this change will occur is through the prayer.

2 Chronicles 7:12-18, "God appeared to Solomon that very night and said, "I accept your prayer; yes, I have chosen this place as a temple for sacrifice, a house of worship. If I ever shut off the supply of rain from the skies or order the locusts to eat the crops or send a plague on my people, and my people, my God-defined people, respond by humbling themselves, praying, seeking my presence, and turning their backs on their wicked lives, I'll be there ready for you: I'll listen from heaven, forgive their sins, and restore their land to health. From now on I'm alert day and night to the prayers offered at this place. Believe me, I've chosen and sanctified this Temple that you have built: My Name is stamped on it forever; my eyes are on it and my heart in it always. As for you, if you live in my presence as your father David lived, pure in heart and action, living the life I've set out for you, attentively obedient to my guidance and judgments, then I'll back your kingly rule over Israel—make it a sure thing on a sure foundation."

Folks, more than change, or even talk of change we need God to lead our headship. We need him to align his ear to the mouth of God and seek His counsel. That will be my prayer. That President Elect Obama be led by the Spirit of God, limiting the voices he allows himself to hear, setting himself as a flint on the things of God as he leads this country. Will you join me?

Here are a list of scriptures we can pray over President Elect Obama...

PRAYERS FOR THE PRESIDENT

I pray that You, O Lord will continually bring goodness and sweetness into the President's life rather than sorrow, causing him to know that taking joy in You makes him strong.
--Nehemiah 8:10

I pray that the President will delight himself in You, Lord, knowing that You will give him the desires of his heart.
--Psalm 37:4

I pray that the President will trust in You, Lord, with all his heart, and lean not on his own understanding. I pray that in all his ways he will acknowledge You, and You will direct his paths.
--Proverbs 3:5-6

I pray that you will always help the President to have a gentle answer that turns away wrath, keeping him from harsh words that stir up anger.
--Proverbs 15:1

O Lord, remind the President continually that You alone are His strength, and that it is You who allows him to accomplish any high and lofty goals.
--Habakkuk 3:19

I pray than when the President faces obstacles he will remember that victory comes not by might nor by power, but by Your Spirit.
--Zechariah 4:6

I pray that the President will always love You O Lord, with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind, and with all his strength and that he will love his neighbor as himself. Make him aware that there is no greater command than this.
--Mark 12:30-31

O Lord, grant that President Elect Obama remembers often Your deep and abiding love for him, knowing that he will ultimately be victorious spiritually because You died for him.
--Romans 8:37

I pray that President Elect Obama will put bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil away from him with all malice. I pray also that kindness, tenderheartedness and forgiveness will characterize him, just as they do God and His Son Jesus Christ.
--Ephesians 4:31-32

I pray that the President will turn to you for his strength, knowing that he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him.
--Philippians 4:13

I pray that you will grant the President the passion and the will to do all his work heartily, remembering that he is serving You and not men.
--Colossians 3:23

O faithful Lord and God, strengthen and protect the President and guard him from the evil one.
--II Thessalonians 3:3

I pray that the President will submit willingly to You, O God, resisting the devil so the enemy will flee from him.
--James 4:7

I pray that the President, by doing good, may silence the ignorance of foolish men.
--I Peter 2:15

I pray, God, that President Elect Obama will resist the temptation of pride and will humble himself under Your mighty hand, that in Your time you may lift him up.
--I Peter 5:6

Lord, I ask You to help President Elect Obama to confess his sins before You, remembering that You are faithful and just and will cleanse him from sin and forgive him for all unrighteousness.
--I John 1:9

O God, let the President always be confident in approaching You, remembering that You hear his prayers when he asks in accord with Your will. May he always pray this way, with confidence.
-- I John 5:14-15

The next few months will be a critical time for our nation as President Elect Obama begins to choose his staff and cabinet. The election may be over, but our response is needed more now than ever.

Tara,
You are right. I'm shedding tears today that people were more concerned with their pocketbooks and not what God's word says. I'm grieved. How does God feel? The church is not hungering after righteousness. How does God feel?
His people are divided. He must be grieveing as well.

Yes, we need to pray now more than ever and I will do that. Your scripture references are excellent. Thank you for sharing them.

Yes, ladies, we must be on our faces before God, crying out and inteceding now more than ever. The good news is, the nation is ripe for revival. And it will be more so now that we are clearly in the end times. Tara, I'm hoping you'll organize another "Driven to Pray" event. We need the spiritual mothers of this land to arise and together press in to touch the heart of God for our nation. II Timothy 3:1 & 2 has manifested right before our very eyes. We don't have much time left before Jesus returns. The Word says the hearts of many will grow cold in these last days, and people will be lovers of money and other things and not give the Word of God the highest regard, or no regard at all. I am placing a few other things aside at this time and spending more time in fasting and prayer and also determining to evangelize more as I believe the time of Jesus return is so near and we can't afford to waste any time in spreading the gospel. Love you much, and thanks for this post.
