Thanksgiving Meme

1. Which do you like better: hosting Thanksgiving at your home, or going elsewhere?
I like hosting holidays in my home especially right now. Our girls are all getting to the age where they want to help so the kitchen becomes a busy place!

2. Do you buy a fresh or frozen turkey? Organic? Free-range?
I prefer fresh if they are not too expensive or small.

3. Do you make stuffing or dressing? What kind?
Dressing… bread

4. Sweet potato pie or Pumpkin pie?
Neither… we do Dutch Apple sometimes but most often cream pies or cheesecake!

5. Are leftovers a blessing or a curse?
Isn’t that why we have Thanksgiving- for the leftovers????

6. What side dishes are a must-have in your family?
Mashed potatoes (made with heavy cream and cream cheese), broccoli casserole (Craig’s mom’s recipe), rutabaga (like my Grandma and Mom make them), southern green beans (Kaitlyn’s recipe), relish tray (Kelsea creates every year), dressing (I’m teaching Haley this year), rolls (Lexi’s job), collard greens, and corn casserole
7. What do you wish you had that might make Thanksgiving easier?
A bigger kitchen and a double oven!!!!
8. If/when you go to someone else’s house for the holiday, do you usually bring a dish?
Yes, whatever they ask and if they don’t have a preference, usually it is a double broccoli casserole.

9. What do you wish one of your guests would bring to your house?
My family (they are so far away)
10. What do you wish one of your guests would NOT bring to your house?
Their dog

11. Do you stick with a particular menu from year to year, or do you mix it up?
Yes, we are very traditional in our menu. Sometimes I add something but our constants remain!
12. Is Thanksgiving a religious or secular holiday in your home?
It is both

13. Share one Thanksgiving tradition.
Watching the parade, crashing on my bed with all my girls after we eat while watching s Christmas movie, and the sound of Craig cheering for his favorite football team.

14. Share one Thanksgiving memory.
I cooked the innards when I roasted the turkey on year!
15. Name five things you’re thankful for.
1. God
2. My family and friends
3. Good health
4. New opportunities and the ability to dream!
5. Freedom!
