So Much for Hidden Chocolate!

Our youngest, Isabella turned one March 15th. She is toddling around, pointing at stuff and learning to talk. She’s so darn cute if I do say so myself!

She’s always getting into just about everything! On Saturday I was getting dressed thinking about how sweet Izzie was as she was sitting in her room playing so nicely. I walked down the hall toward the bathroom and stopped abruptly.

There, on the floor was my Izzie, smiling at me and reaching up for me. “Hi, hi, hi,” she said as a stream of brown drool trickled down her chin. Around her was an array of brightly colored candy wrappers. I have no idea how many there were. A lot would be my best guess.

I looked around the room and found where my five year had hidden her Valentine’s candy stash. An open lunchbox lay on the floor in the vicinity on the candy wrappers- EMPTY!

I scooped her up and pried two unwrapped, melting chocolates from her sticky little hands. She howled, shaking her head as I attempted to wrestle some of the chocolate from her bulging cheeks. I finally gave up and headed to the bathroom. I plunked her down in the tub and washed her up as she babbled.

I couldn’t help but smile as I lifted her out of the tub. “Well Izzie,” I said, “So much for hidden chocolate! Mommy didn’t even get a piece!”

She smiled back at me and grabbed my face with her hands giving me a big, open mouthed, chocolate kiss!
